Love is Patient

starting fresh, a new blog and a new school

Today was such a beautiful day, thank you Lord. I woke up to a wonderful time of catching up with my cousin, Jocelyn. I headed to the dentist for a cleaning and also got to talk with my old boss and coworkers! The office is currently getting a little face lift, so they gave me a tour of the place. After a cavity free check up, I drove through my favorite coffee shop for a treat. With my delicious iced coffee, I picked up Kayla and Ashanti for a trip to the mall. After scoring some cute eighties inspired shorts, I dropped them off and headed back home. Both my parents were home, so the three of us talked for a bit and I then proceeded to bless my mom by cleaning the house. I organized my paints and brushes in their newly designated bins, and came to find that I’ve purchased the same shade of yellow, “butterscotch,” four times! Once the house was tidied up, I put together an incredible sandwich that the three of us shared. I warmed up sourdough bread, melted muenster cheese onto it, added some applewood smoked ham, and dribbled Italian dressing over it. We ate in front of the television while watching a 90’s Julia Roberts movie called “Sleeping with the Enemy.” It feels good to rest before the Lord and end today feeling thankful for His presence. It hasn’t been the easiest week for me emotionally, but He is faithful and has His hand guiding me along. Thank you God, you are so good.

All human nature vigorously resists grace because grace changes us and the change is painful.

Time

My mom always taught me that time is worth more than money, because our time is so much more valuable than money ever could be. I think this is why I feel so blessed when someone gives me their time. When they take time out of their day to see how I’m doing, when they take time to answer the phone and calm any of my anxieties, when they take the time to listen and when they take the time to respond, when they take the time to just exist with me in a very busy world. A person who gives me their time is a person whose love I can feel so vividly, without question. I want to be a person who gives my time to the people I love. I don’t want to ever miss an opportunity to talk to them, to listen to them, to tell them how much I miss them and love them. Time is our most precious gift, I intend on giving it to those I love. The Lord has put it on my heart lately to be wise with my time, to talk when words are needed, and to simply meditate when they’re not. Our time is limited, I want to spend mine wisely, blessing others, and showing my love in bold ways.

Where you invest your love, you invest your life…
